Getting Ready for Your Shoot

You were born to be amazing and fierce. Not only will I assist you and guide you on your special day to get the most out of your photoshoot, I have prepared a list of tips to ensure you are prepared for your special day behind the camera.

Planning

This is a very important tip to getting the most out of your photoshoot. Start by planning and envisioning your special day and what your ideal photo looks like to you. Take the time to research and familiarise what style of photo and location you are looking for. I am here to guide you and provide expert advice while helping you throw some ideas around and bring your vision to life.

Prepare Your Outfit

If your photography session is not a special event or wedding, you may need to take the time to prepare a couple of outfit options for your special day. The most important thing to keep in mind is to choose an outfit that makes you feel and look amazing. Keep your photoshoot theme in mind when planning your outfit options. If you are having a photoshoot in a colourful environment, you may want to focus more on keeping your clothing simple and elegant to ensure the focus remains on you. If you are having a photoshoot with your family, you may want to focus on maintaining a matching theme for the photoshoot and ensure everyone is wearing similar clothing. The most important thing when planning your outfit is to be yourself and use your clothing to express yourself, have fun and show your personality in your photo's.

Practice Your Poses

Do you have a desired pose or angle that you know works for you? Practice makes perfect! Practice your desired poses or angle in the mirror a couple of days prior to your photoshoot. Not only will this make you more confident in front of the camera, you will breeze through your photoshoot and have a lot more fun while knowing exactly what to do.

Get Your Beauty Sleep

The days leading into your photoshoot are very important. Ensure you are drinking lots of water to hydrate your skin and ensure you are well rested. Beauty sleep is no lie! This will make sure you are full of energy and have a fresh face for your special day.

Ensure Your Makeup is Photoshoot Ready

If you are going to wear makeup for your photoshoot there are a few tips that will ensure the best outcome for you. If you are having your makeup professionally done, please advise your makeup artist that you are having a professional photoshoot done. Your makeup artist will ensure the correct makeup is used for a photoshoot. If you are doing your own makeup make sure you are using a foundation that matches your skin colour in the light. Flash photography can enhance dark circles, so do not forget to apply under your eyes. Ensure that your makeup matches the theme and ideal style of your photoshoot. Flash photography can also remove some of the colour and depth from your makeup. Add a little extra colour and bronzer to your makeup. And finally, fill in your brows! This helps shape your entire face and will add an extra fierce feel to your photo's.

Bring Your Fun Attutide & Relax

My goal is to make you feel excited, fun and comfortable on your special day. I understand that nerves and butterflies can occasionally show up. The main thing is to bring a great attitude, relax and have fun. This will make your photoshoot far more enjoyable and one to remember.
